Scarecrow contest is back! This year's theme is AMERICAN HISTORY. So many creative things you can do!
STEP 1: Get your staff or group together and make a scarecrow based on the theme.
This contest is open to everyone! Businesses, organizations, chamber members and non-chamber members, school groups, private groups, nonprofits, etc.
STEP 2: Register your Scarecrow with the chamber to be on the judges list. (below)
It's FREE!
STEP 3: Put it on display downtown Bellaire starting Sept 10th (can take down after Sept 30th).
If you have a business downtown, place it in front of your business. If you do not have a business location downtown, the chamber can assign you downtown location where everyone can see it and it can be judged. Make sure to creatively include your name so we know who it belongs to. If you have a location on M88 where it is highly visible, that is acceptable also.
STEP 4: Make sure your scarecrow votes are in by voting closing on Wed., Sept. 23rd.
NEW this year! Judging will be based on an online voting system on the chamber website. Judging should be based on creativity & originality, theme adherence, craftmanship & construction, visual impact, use of materials, humor or spookiness, attention to detail...but it will be a public voting system so promote your votes! A link for voting and a QR code will be provided to all registered participants.
STEP 5: Stroll & Enjoy!
Harvest Festival is Sept. 26th. This event is well attended and the Scarecrows are a main attraction! So thank you for everyone who participates! Winners will be announced on Sept 26th at the Harvest Festival. 1st place receives a prize, 2nd and 3rd will be honorable mentions.
