Help Us Stock the Smiles
The wide-eyed smile, full of the excitement of a child catching a fish, is such a rewarding experience. We have all witnessed children today addicted to electronic devices: phones, computers, IPADs, tablets, TikTok, TV, and Nintendo games. "Kids Fish Day" is a family event where young children have an opportunity to catch fish and win prizes. It's a chance to teach children how to fish and enjoy the fun of being outdoors away from their electronics. Our hope is that this will help them develop a lifelong love for the outdoors.
For almost 50 years the Bellaire Conservation Club (BCC), with the Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire, has organized "Kids Fish Day" on the last Saturday in April. In past years, rainbow trout were supplied at no cost from the Jordon River Fish Hatchery. With the end of that program, we're now faced with purchasing a thousand fish at $5-$7 each, to stock the Meadow Brook pond. Once "Kids Fish Day" is over, throughout the summer, the residents of Meadow Brook also have the opportunity to fish and enjoy the outdoors, as well as area Senior Citizens during our sponsored fishing events in 2026.
In the past, if you contributed money or prize donations, thank you! This year we ask you to continue your generosity and consider helping us tackle the additional expense of fish stocking, so those wide-eyed smiles continue. Any "Angler" level of donations or prizes is truly appreciated and will be acknowledged at the event:
Gold Angler $500, Silver Angler $100-499, Bronze Angler $5-$99
If you wish to become a corporate sponsor, we have the Platinum Angler level of $1,000+. We will recognize Corporate Sponsors in all advertising material for "Kids Fish Day" and in our 2026 website/facebook presence. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Paul Sak, BCC Director at 586-604-1892.
If you wish to donate prizes, please email [email protected] or contact a Club member directly.
To help with planning, your response by March 27th would be greatly appreciated.
