Consumers Outage this weekend! See if it affects you.

Crews from Consumers Energy need to do some repairs to a substation that serves the Bellaire area.  In order to make those repairs, they are going to transfer the substation’s load to a temporary substation.  To do this safely, it requires a brief interruption in electric service that will impact around 1,425 customers.  The outage should only last about five minutes but could go as long as 15 minutes.  The outage should begin at around midnight on Saturday, January 24, or technically the very early morning hour of Sunday, January 25.  We understand that it will be a very cold night and we’re sensitive to that.  Hopefully a brief outage won’t impact furnaces too much. 

 I attached a map of the impacted area.  Because of the emergent nature of this work, we didn’t have time to send out a post card notice to customers.  We are reaching out to area media to let them know and I’m sure our company will be doing some social media outreach to the area as well.
