Doing an escape room has become a tradition on our yearly summer vacations. This year we were at Torch Lake, and Bellaire happened to have a fun pirate-themed room at Escape Bellaire. The escape room is tucked inside a bar, which is a little confusing at first, but the staff is friendly and the host comes out quickly to get you started. Don't expect one of those massive, high-tech chain escape rooms. This one is simpler in design, but it totally fits the charm of a small town and the puzzles are surprisingly challenging. We've done quite a few escape rooms over the years and this one had us asking for more clues than we'd like to admit. We didn't escape in the end, but we had a blast stressing our brains after a relaxing day at the lake. If you're in Bellaire and want a fun family activity one evening, I'd definitely recommend it.
