Bellaire, MI, September 19, 2019 – The proceeds from the September Giving Thursday in Bellaire went to the Grass River Natural Area who is celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. A total of $1,223 was donated from sales at 16 participating businesses.
“The generous support of Bellaire businesses and their customers means a great deal to us. It was Antrim County’s interest in the health of Grass River that helped us start on our journey 50 years ago; and we are honored that the county and in this case, specifically Bellaire, feel we are still worthy of that support,” says Jenn Wright, Executive Director of Grass River Natural Area.
According to Shelly Dayton owner of The Flying Pig, “This is what living in a small town is all about – shopping locally and knowing that part of what you spend is going back to supporting worthwhile area endeavors. I like to see that happen.”
Grass River Natural Area sends a special thank you to the following businesses that donated during Giving Thursday: Hello Vino, Little Treasures Toy and Gift, M88 Morning Grind, Paddles and Pedals, Ruthann’s Gourmet Bakery, Short’s Brewing, The Flying Pig, The 45th Apparel, Inspire Health, Bellaire Smokehouse, Boatman’s Bellaire Market, Toonies Fish and Steak, Uniquely North, Terrain, The Spice and Tea Exchange, and Yoga Bellaire.
The next Giving Thursday is set for November 21st and will benefit Crosshatch Center for Art & Ecology. Businesses and individuals that would like to donate and be a part of Giving Thursday events may contact Jamie Creason at info@applesauceinn.com .
