From hikers, bikers, backpackers, wildlife enthusiasts, fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, horseback riding cross-country skiing, snowboarding snowmobiling, paddling, boating, swimming (and the list goes on & on)  take advantage of nearly 44,000 acres of public, county-owned and state forest land near Alden, Bellaire, Central Lake and Mancelona.  Among those areas are the Grass River Natural Area, Cedar River Natural Area, Glacial Hills Pathway & Natural Area, Noteware’s Landing and Willow Day Park.
